The creative process is my rapid eye movement of mindfulness. Painting is my practice. My surfaces hold both reflections and collections. I tend toward the subliminal and the suggested. I am attracted to informationally stacked spaces that hold multiple layers of meaning. I honor the intuitive energy that manifests itself within my initial reactions to any given surface - which reflects my experience making and looking, as well as my psychological and emotional being in those indescribable beginning moments. Sometimes these expressions are internally and anonymously driven and sometimes they are provoked by a memory, a dream or by the sound of music.
My faith to certain lines, areas of thought and spaces allows for a limitation and presents itself as a challenge when I am devising a rightness out of my exploration to see and to digest the information that is so fully my imagination and navigation. Currently from these starting points I am attempting to build obvious systems of energy. A world where negative and positive space hold equal importance and can be read from left to right and from right to left, by following the lines or by reading in between the lines, by chasing the color or feeling the gesture of a shape, by standing several feet away as well as face to face. A world where attention is necessary; the unveiling of time and meaning an experience.
