ABOUT THE GOWN
Storybook gown constructed entirely out of recycled and discarded children’s Golden Books. Surface area of the paper skirt: ~22,000 square inches. The paper skirt is comprised entirely of the original book illustrations sewn together with metallic gold thread. The bodice is made from the books’ foil spines backed by tape adhesive.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ryan Jude Novelline is a Boston-based artist who has designed for GAP, Harvard University, Diane Von Furstenberg, & Walt Disney Imagineering and has shown work in Boston, New York, Providence, and Orlando. His art has been featured both domestically and internationally by Conde Nast, New York Magazine, PBS, Yahoo, Asian Geographic, HP Global, and a host of others. He holds a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and is currently hard at work on a mindblowingly innovative new piece scheduled for completion Spring 2014.
