‘Resonance' features works in bold color from abstract painters Brigitte Keller, Nikolai Fox, Toby Gordon, Kristin Texeira and Jeannie Griffin-Peterka, and sculpture by Boston-based artist, Marjorie Kaye. The Loft exhibition space reveals the delightfully poignant and witty visual narrative of ‘Horace and Agnes: A Love Story’ by photographer Asia Kepka with stories by Lynn Dowling.
The Kolb Memorial Gallery will hold a rotating collection of local, national and international artists throughout the season including Kate Crowell, Tim Beavis, Jan Waldron and Alexandra de Steiguer as well as handcrafted jewelry by Megan Stelzer, Melinda Salazar, and Quench Metalworks. The gallery is also home to the new Flat File Project, art library, and bookstore.
“I am thrilled and honored to be opening Drift Gallery for our fourth season with such an incredible line-up of artists and exhibitions,” notes Ali Goodwin, gallery director and curator. “We are fortunate to offer such a world-class collection of art in such a stunning venue, and if last year was any indication of our intention to bring world-class arts and events to the Seacoast, this season proves to be no exception.”

In addition to rotating exhibitions throughout spring, summer and fall, Drift Gallery offers a weekly figure drawing group, art classes and workshops, special events, a monthly ‘Lunch with the Curator’ series, artist talks and book signings by local, national and international artists.
An artist and educator herself, Goodwin’s motivation to create a contemporary art space in the historic carriage house comes from the legacy left by John Templeman Coolidge and his innate desire to create a place that attracted like-minded guests (such as John Singer Sargeant and Isabella Stewart Gardner) who came to share their talent and take their inspiration from the surrounding land and sea. "That was his genius," says Templeman’s granddaughter Susannah Coolidge Jones. "He could do it himself, but he got others to do it too… He believed in the work of your hands. That was really his prayer."
The exhibition, ‘Resonance’ runs April 26th through June 7th, 2014.
It is free and open to the public. All works are for sale.
